Agreement and scope

These terms describe the rules for using the EDC3D app and this website. "We" means the EDC3D developer; "you" means a person using the app or visiting the website. Please read these terms before using the relevant features. If you do not agree to the applicable terms, stop using the relevant service.

These terms apply alongside the terms of the relevant app distribution channel. If you obtain the app through the App Store and no custom end-user licence agreement is provided, the software licence is also governed by Apple's standard end-user licence agreement. This page does not change your agreement with Apple or limit rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

Children should read and use the app under a guardian's guidance. Purchases or disclosures of personal information to us require any guardian consent required by law.

App licence

Subject to applicable law, these terms and the distribution channel's usage rules, you may install and use EDC3D on compatible devices that you own or control. A licence to use the app does not transfer ownership of the software, models, sounds, graphics, brand or other developer content.

Except as permitted by law, an applicable open licence or the rights holder's authorisation, you must not copy, sell or redistribute the app or its resources, remove rights notices, impersonate an official version or create derivative products that infringe rights. This does not restrict family sharing, backups or other rights allowed by the distribution channel.

Experience and limits

EDC3D offers 3D viewing and fidget experiences with virtual objects including the Slider, Push & Turn, Tuning Fork, Spinner and Compass, plus text, drawing and laser engraving effects for supported objects. Metal, mechanics, engraving and sound shown in the app or on the website are digital representations. They do not involve physical goods, real laser machining or physical delivery.

The Tuning Fork is a virtual fidget object, not a precision tuning instrument. The Compass is for viewing patterns and spinning, not measuring real directions or navigation. The app is for leisure, is not a medical device or a diagnostic or treatment tool, and promises no health or therapeutic benefits.

Sound, haptics, rendering and performance vary with hardware, system version and settings. Adjust or disable sound and haptics for your comfort and use the app for reasonable periods. Website screenshots may differ slightly from the interface on your device or app version. Refer to the version you have installed.

Acceptable use

Use the app and website lawfully and respect other people's rights. Do not use the content or support channels for infringement, fraud, harassment, unlawful content or disruption of the website or related services.

Obtain the app from a trustworthy distribution channel. These terms do not impose restrictions beyond applicable law on security research, interoperability or other lawful activities.

Your creations

The text you enter, the designs you draw and their existing intellectual property rights remain yours or those of the relevant rights holder. Make sure you have the right to use that content. Creating an engraving does not give the app ownership of your work.

The app processes creations locally for display, layout, engraving simulation and restoration. The current version does not offer uploads, public publishing, community sharing or a cloud library. If you take screenshots, distribute them or use the content elsewhere, check the relevant copyright, trademark, likeness and privacy rights yourself.

If you voluntarily email us a creation or attachment for support, we use it only as needed to handle that request. This does not give us permission to display your work publicly or use it commercially. We will seek separate consent for any other use.

Local data and privacy

Preferences, text, drawings, layouts and actual engraving progress are saved on your device, without relying on a user account or our app servers. For data handling details and the distinction between the app, website visits and email support, see the Privacy Policy.

Drafts and actual engraving marks are saved separately. Starting a new engraving may replace the existing marks on that object, so confirm the content first. Offloading, deleting, device faults, resets or system restoration may change or remove data. Whether system backups include it depends on your settings. We cannot retrieve local creations from an app server or guarantee that system backups can restore them.

Platforms and third parties

The Slider is free forever. Each other object category offers a total of 60 seconds of free trial time. A one-time purchase permanently unlocks all objects and custom engraving, with no automatic renewal. Editing and previewing custom designs are free; starting engraving requires unlocking. Purchases can be restored in the app with the same Apple Account. Refunds follow Apple's process, and refunded or revoked transactions no longer grant paid entitlements. Regional prices are those shown by Apple's store and confirmation screen in the app.

Core play works offline. Checking products, making purchases and restoring purchases require a connection to Apple services. Visiting the website, obtaining updates or emailing support may require internet access and may incur carrier or platform charges.

App downloads, displayed prices, payments and refunds, where applicable, are governed by the actual distribution channel's pages and rules. This website does not process payments or orders, and these terms do not promise that the app is listed in any particular region. Apple's distribution, payment and system features are also subject to the relevant platform terms.

Email links on the website open your email client. External pages and services are run by their respective providers. Review their terms and privacy information when using them. You may choose not to use these external features and continue with the app's offline core experience.

Updates and termination

We may release updates to improve the experience, maintain system compatibility or fix problems. Features and device requirements depend on the actual release. We will maintain the app reasonably, but do not promise ongoing compatibility with every device, system or future version, or new features on a particular date.

You may stop using the app and delete it from your device at any time. For serious breaches of applicable terms, the licence may terminate under the relevant licence agreement or law. This does not affect provisions that must continue to apply by law or valid rights that have already arisen.

If we plan to discontinue the website or support service, we will provide notice through the website or another appropriate channel where reasonably practicable. Availability of an installed offline app may still depend on the device, operating system, platform distribution and licence conditions.

Liability and rights

We will exercise reasonable care in providing the app and its information, and will try to correct known significant problems. Software may still experience interruptions, errors or incompatibility. Please report reproducible issues to us.

Each party bears the responsibilities required by applicable law and valid licence terms. These terms do not exclude or limit liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited, including any non-excludable liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury or statutory consumer rights. Descriptions of feature limits or compatibility do not remove obligations imposed by law.

Changes and disputes

We may update these terms as features or legal requirements change and revise the date on this page. Where reasonably practicable, we will draw attention to changes that materially affect users' rights or obligations, and seek consent where required by law. Changes do not retroactively remove rights you have already lawfully acquired.

If a dispute arises, please first try to resolve it by emailing support. If it cannot be resolved through discussion, you may seek a remedy from a competent authority under applicable law. This does not affect remedies available under the mandatory laws of your location. If a provision is held invalid, other provisions that can lawfully apply independently remain effective.

For bug reports, please include your app version, device model, system version and reproduction steps where possible. Hide unrelated personal information before sending screenshots or attachments. For data handling and personal information requests, see the Privacy Policy.
